This is my absolutely favorite season.
The colored leaves.
Hot cups of tea and candles.
The start of the holiday season.
Apples and pumpkins, cinnamon and cloves.
I just love it all!!
My kids love it, too.
There are so many things you can do to decorate for fall. We will look at a few things we did yesterday and today, and then next week we’ll look at some more ways to decorate for fall.
Let he fun begin!!!
Yesterday I drug out all my fall decorations and made our living room look warm and inviting.
I got this table runner at Rite Aid and the pillar candle at Big Lots. The rest of the candles I got here.
I love big jar Yankee Candles. There is just no other candle like a Yankee candle, and I’m so glad that they sell them here. There is nothing that says comfort and fall like a burning Yankee candle and a bowl of fall fruit!
Then we put up this fall window stickers. I got these at the Dollar Store.
And fall refrigerator magnets. They will love playing with these again this year!
But best of all, is this fall sign I got last year. When it’s hanging on the house, then I know it’s fall!
Decorating for fall together not only helps to make fun memories and establish wonderful family traditions, it is also educational as you talk about what fall brings in the way of produce, why leaves fall from the trees, and the upcoming holidays.
You can even make it extra fun with fall goodies, such as apple slices dipped in caramel and hot apple cider.
Next week you can find activities like:
Decorating a pumpkin for fall (not for Halloween)
Making fall leaves
and other fun screen free activities that you can do all year round!
This post is day 10 of the series: 31 Days of Screen Free Activities for Kids. To see all of the posts in this series visit this page.
