“And Mary took a photo of all these things and posted them on Facebook”
Oh wait! That wasn’t Mary!
This season as I have contemplated Mary as a mother, I must say that I truly admire her.
Imagine receiving a visit from an angel who tells you that you, a virgin, are going become pregnant by the Holy Spirit. That you will literally carry God in your womb.
She must have known that this would be a difficult journey. I mean, how do you convince people that, while you became pregnant out of wedlock, that you were not immoral? Furthermore, how do you explain to people that the baby your are carrying is literally God.
Did she even try to explain that one?
She had to realized that the stigma of having been pregnant out of wedlock would follow her, Joseph and Jesus all of their lives.
And yet, she replied with, “Let it be to me according to your word.”
No arguments. No questions.
And then there are these words:
The truest form of worship there is:
All of the worship songs and acts of kindness mean nothing to Jesus if we are not obedient to Him.
Is there an area of your heart you have yet to fully surrender?
Is there a command in the Bible that you have failed to bow your knee to?
Is there something He has told you to do that remains yet undone?
Let us take this simple but powerful lesson from Mary and follow her act of worship.
O come, let us adore Him by surrendering our life, our will, our rights, and our whole selves to Him in true worship by being fully obedient to
And then let us lift our hands in worship as we say with her:
