We are entering a time of year that can be so stressful.
All of the parties, decorating, shopping, planning…
the stress of trying to budget, knowing we’ll go over budget anyhow and wondering how (or when) we’ll pay for it all.
Somehow I don’t think that this is what God had in mind when He spoke about celebrating.
One thing that was on my heart this year was to remake the holiday season. I wanted to enjoy it – every bit of it – and just savor each message.
Thanksgiving – Giving God thanks for all of His wonderful gifts.
Christmas – God loving us so much that He would be willing to send His son as a baby to be born in the most unlikely of places, in the most unlikely of conditions, and to the most unlikely of couples.
The New Year – God’s gift of a fresh season of life, as Anne would say, “Fresh with no mistakes in it”. This year I decided to look at 2013 as another facet of grace. A second chance. A do-over.
God plays a role in each part of this season. And I didn’t want to miss it.
Not one bit of it!
I really enjoyed Thanksgiving this year. Thankfulness really took hold of my heart and I still find myself pausing throughout the day asking myself what new thing I can be thankful for.
And I wanted to the same for Christmas.
This is why I was so excited that Courtney and Angela over at Good Morning Girls decided to do their first ever Advent study!
It just fit with what I felt God wanted me to do this year.
And every year, for that matter.
I got a sneak-peak at the material – since I translated it for my Croatian group Dobro jutro djevojke – and let me tell you…it is the best yet! This study isn’t just for girls – but for the whole family!
It starts Monday – but if you are wanting to join us, you can still get placed in a group.
Be sure to visit their Facebook page and leave a comment. You’ll get place in a group right away.
But, you’ll also want to follow their blog via email or your preferred Reader. That way you’ll get the free ebook!
