Thanksgiving is such a special time of year to me! Spending time with family, baking, playing table games, crafts with my children, volunteering, cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, and most certainly Black Friday shopping!
My goal this year is to take the spirit of Thanksgiving with me throughout the rest of the year! Not that I complain all year long except on a four-day weekend in November but I want to be more thankful in my actions and the words I speak.
Knowing that I may need a reminder or two I’ve found a couple Bible verses that I’m going to write on index cards and post in a well-visible place in my home. So thankful I got that idea from Rosilind!
The scriptures I found that resonate with me are:
Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit—you choose.
And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father. Colossians 3:17
Reminders that I’ll read before I start each day and may possibly need to read at the end of each day on my journey of learning thankfulness in the good times and the bad.
First I’d like to say, “Thank you” to Rosilind for inviting me to post on her blog! I’m blessed to have known her for about 30+ years. In a nutshell, I’m a Christian and came to the realization that I can’t, and don’t want to, live my life without God. I love to laugh, encourage others, love hospitality, praying with/for others, and love to plan.
I’m a wife to an extremely loving man, I’ve also been blessed with two fantastic, beautiful, smart, sweet, independent, patience-trying-keep-me-praying children.
I like Bible studies and talking with other women, I like crafts and my Cricut® machine is my latest hobby, I like to bake, knit scarves – and hoping to learn to make matching hats soon, I try to keep up with blogging at Our Lives Together and I’d also like to learn to crochet a lot better then I already do – so just might try to practice one of Roz’s dishcloths! I’m also finishing classes for Web design and I work very p/t at a children’s clothing store. As I finish-up, if anyone needs encouragement, please read Jeremiah 29:11 and Psalm 91. They’ve helped me tremendously during hard times.
