I know what it’s like to be controlled by fear.
For years, it was one of the greatest battles of my life.
I still remember lying awake as a little girl, unable to sleep because my mind was filled with frightening thoughts and worst-case scenarios. That battle followed me into adulthood, and although God has given me tremendous victory over the years, it’s still an area where I have to remain vigilant.
What I’ve discovered is that defeating fear isn’t about pretending it doesn’t exist.
It’s about learning to fight it with God’s truth.
As I’ve spent time studying Psalms 46–50, I’ve been reminded that God hasn’t left us defenseless. His Word gives us practical ways to overcome fear and replace it with faith.
In a recent blog post, I share seven biblical principles that have helped me renew my mind and experience greater freedom from fear.
You’ll discover how to:
Examine the root of your fear.
Choose faith even when your emotions tell you otherwise.
Quiet your heart before the Lord.
Remember God’s faithfulness.
Rejoice in the victory Christ has already won.
Use worship as a weapon.
Meditate on God’s truth until peace replaces fear.
If fear has been stealing your joy or keeping you from trusting God fully, I pray this article encourages you as much as these Scriptures have encouraged me.
