For me the keeping eternity in mind every day was revealed in the middle of a shopping mall a couple of years ago. My family and I were walking the shops on the top level and stopped to rest. Looking down over the indoor play area--it was filled with kids and parents on a beautiful SUNNY summer afternoon. I became very sad. "What a waste of a summer day' was my first thought, but then God revealed to me a much deeper question. "Where is the eternal impact in all of this?" Now I am not saying that playing in an indoor playground is bad, but it caused me to look at my own life and the things I choose to do each day in a new perspective. That day was what I refer to as my "burning bush moment"--the moment God placed on my heart a much larger calling and passion.
This was a fresh word for me today! It's more than living in the moment! May we keep eternity in view!
