Working from home has its upsides and downsides.
The upside is that I have been able to stay home with our children and homeschool them through their grade school and junior high years.
I have had the privilege of taking the skills and talents God has given me and earning an income from them.
I have been able to minister to women and volunteer in my church in ways I would not have been able to had I worked a traditional job.
The downside is that my office is always in front of my eyes.
I am a Type-A personality, and the temptation to hustle to the point of exhaustion is forever sitting on my shoulder.
My bestie, Misty Leask, has had to urge me more than once to take a step back and breathe.
Over the past 2-3 years, God has brought to mind Jesus’ words, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Matthew 6:33
What are we seeking?
This is harder to do than we imagine, because we want to think we’re truly seeking after God’s kingdom and righteousness, when in reality, we’re giving God a little and our own ambitions a lot.
It’s not easy to lay aside ambitions, desires, and worldly pursuits, and seek first God’s kingdom and His righteousness.
That sounds so passive!
But indeed, it is the furthest thing from passive.
You see, God wants us to seek Him, His face, His kingdom, His righteousness - so that we can enjoy His rest.
And when we can rest in Him, He can provide for us like a Good Father.
It would hurt my heart so much if my 14-year-old son felt he needed to get a job to provide for himself and refused to let my husband and me be the parents God designed us to be.
Just the same, it hurts God’s heart that we run after all of the things the world defines as success, while neglecting the one thing that God truly desires for us.
His face.
His kingdom.
His righteousness.
Because He wants to be a Good Father and care for us as only He can.
But this means rest for our heart and spirit.
This means learning to Sabbath when it’s time to Sabbath.
This means laying aside worry, fear, and anxiety - and trusting in His faithful provision.
This means letting God do His work in His time and in His way.
During the month of June, I will be meditating on this truth even deeper with my new Scripture Writing Journal for Psalm 91.
(watch a flip through)
I am making this journal available right away in my Resource Library for my paid subscribers right here on Substack!
But there’s even more!
I will be doing a live study with the Scripture Writing Journal for Psalm 91 in my closed chat.
Starting June 19, I will kick it off with a live video talking about the study and all you need to know to begin…
And then on June 22, we will begin our study through Psalm 91.
The study will take place in the chat, as we daily check in and talk about what we’re learning.
You can get access to my Resource Library right here - and with that, you will not only be able to join the study, but you will also get access to over 100 free downloadable journals, workbooks, worksheets, and more.

Hi Rosilind,
Am I understanding correctly that this Scripture Writing Journal is just for paid subscribers?
Happy Sabbath. Enjoy the rest.
