I really like what is said here about the middle ground neither crucifying or canonizing. https://www.facebook.com/bishopalwhite/posts/pfbid0MqtUBp6E6zRwrA9XLkuspMiuHAWLC5bxkd83hAPhXq6QuF92X5i6qjeoPbRFMHYLl

Yes. What a good piece. We have seen this play out so often, and the sad part is, most often we don't discover for years - or ever - what the truth is. And yet, a man's life and ministry are destroyed.

I was talking to my husband about this yesterday. There is restoration in the Lord, but 8 years is a very long time. That's almost 3,000 days to steep on your daily actions, how you've impacting your ministry (and those that follow it) and your loved ones. Not sure if James 3:1 would qualify him as a teacher but possibly so in the technical sense.

The way I'd see James 3:1 apply is with his speaking engagements in churches and things. But that aside, I do pray that he gives himself to restoration. A huge positive out of this is his wife's response - that she is committed to their marriage and restoration. I pray a good testimony comes out of these ashes.

Good point about James 3:1. I want the best for them but I must admit to being conflicted about the 8 years.

Oh friend - same. That is just such a long time to carry on an affair. A lot happens in the heart of a person when they choose sin over the truth of God's Word for that length of time. I just pray that he will allow the Lord to go deep all the way to the root and bring full healing.
