There was a time when I didn’t realize how much of my identity was still attached to temporary things.
Not always sinful things.
Sometimes deeply painful things.
Sometimes even meaningful things.
The problem was that I was allowing those things to define me more than Christ did.
And when identity becomes rooted in temporary circumstances, sensitivity and offense are never far behind.
Because if my identity is wrapped up in:
my success
my failures
my motherhood
my wounds
my relationships
my struggles
then anything that touches those areas starts to feel deeply personal.
That’s why so many people today live emotionally exhausted and easily shaken.
We were never meant to build our identity on shifting circumstances.
God intended us to live as people whose identity is anchored in Christ.
People who know they are already loved, already accepted, already secure in Him.
That realization started changing the way I prayed, too.
For years, I read verses about identity in Christ and agreed with them mentally, but something shifted when I began praying those verses personally over my life.
Not just reading them.
Not just highlighting them.
Praying them.
There’s something powerful about taking God’s Word and turning it into prayer.
It steadied my thinking.
It exposed lies I had quietly believed for years.
And it helped me begin walking from truth instead of just occasionally thinking about it.
That’s what led me to create this 30-Day Prayer Challenge for Identity in Christ.
It is a free resource to help you build a strong foundation for your identity.
Each day walks through Scripture focused on who God says we are in Him, with space to pray those truths personally and intentionally.
I shared it here if you want to walk through it too:
