I know my intention is to be writing about Sabbath here on Substack, and I will on Thursday (I hope)….
But, honestly, lately I’ve been carrying a heavy burden.
The church is in a season of great shaking, and dear sister, it has to happen.
The season we are in as a global church is unavoidable because God is a holy God and will not tolerate sin.
It is tempting to look at the global church leaders whose sin is being exposed on the world’s stage and point the finger, but the truth is that adultery, fornication, pornography, deviancy, and a myriad of sexual sin is rampant throughout the church on every level.
Several years ago, while I still had my Facebook page, I commented on the dangers of parents teaching their children safe sex.
The blowback was shocking from parents who hotly disagreed with me.
The comments ranged from “We cannot expect kids in this culture to be abstinent” to “I don’t want my child to find himself/herself in a moment of temptation and end up having to raise a child. Better to teach him/her to be safe.”
If we are not willing to accept the hard teachings of God’s Word and train our children according to Scripture, how can we expect the body of Christ to be holy?
Yes, there is an expectation that our church leaders will live moral and holy lives, but is it reasonable to expect more from them than we do from ourselves?
I am serious when I ask:
Are we willing to tolerate immorality in our films?
Do we simply roll our eyes and keep watching when homosexuality is portrayed in our favorite show?
Are we willing to get up and walk out of a theater when there is swearing?
Do we take sorcery and magic as seriously as God does in the Bible?
Do we set a standard for the whole family that if it’s not suitable for children, it’s not suitable for anyone?
Are we willing to raise the bar of holy living and morality to a biblical standard?
The message of moral purity isn’t just for teens and singles; it’s for the whole church.
We cannot preach moral purity and then recommend movies, books, and shows that exalt immorality just because it was otherwise a “good show”.
“But, other than those few scenes, or the few cuss words, the movie was great!”
That would be like telling my kids, “You can go ahead and drink that glass of milk. I know it has a bit of cat poop in it, but other than the little bit of poop, it’s fine!”
Sin is poison.
Immorality is a sin.
Cursing is a sin.
Murder is a sin.
Witchcraft, sorcery, and magic are a sin.
The problem is, we’ve made an idol out of entertainment, and so we’re willing to overlook sin to fulfill our desire to be entertained.
Not realizing that when we choose to entertain ourselves with portrayals of sin, our entertainment is slowly reshaping our worldview.
So that in 2026, a large segment of the church has bought into the message of safe sex.
Is there really a safe way to sin?
The answer is no. There is no safe sin. God really does expect His Church to live holy lives.
They say that leaders are a replica of the people they lead, and I believe that is true.
The crisis we see in the global leadership of the church is only a replica of the crisis we’re seeing in the pews.
It’s a warning to the church that we all need to repent.
Not just the church leadership.
Not just Bethel.
Not just Hillsong.
Not just IHOPKC.
Not just Gateway.
Not just prophet-so-and-so, you watched a YouTube video about.
But the whole church.
We’re all guilty of tolerating sin. Of thinking that God is going to look the other way. Of thinking that it doesn’t matter too much.
“It’s just a little thing”.
All it takes is a little poison to kill the human body.
All it takes is a little sin to kill the spirit.
Dear sister, we need to take this moment as seriously as God is taking this moment.
The book of Jeremiah was a prophetic warning to Judah that judgment was at the door -- and God was willing to turn back the knob if Judah would repent.
This moment in church history is a prophetic warning to the church that judgment is at the door -- and God will restore if we will repent.
It starts with you and me.
Below are some articles and free resources that I hope will encourage and strengthen you -- and challenge us all.

Hello Women Who Love Jesus, this needed to be said. For too long men have led a church going downhill. I have a sense in my spirit that during the Millennium women will take over the overall leadership role from men. For too long, men have lorded it over women and our LORD has not been happy with the way some men, especially those in leadership, have treated Women. Men, we need to repent of our sin toward Women.
I really enjoyed reading this! I agree 100%, Christans as a hole have accepted, sin in their lives. I used to do the same. My eyes were opened around 3 years ago. I still fall short daily, but I pray for his help each and every day. I got rid of my TV and I have to be very careful with my phone, we can watch even more evil there if we are not careful. You are right God is not going to overlook sin. Thank you!
