For a long time, I didn’t realize that something was quietly working to destroy my identity in Christ.
It wasn’t obvious.
It didn’t look like rebellion.
It didn’t even feel wrong at first.
It seemed that no matter how much Scripture I read and no matter how much I reminded myself of the truth, I still felt like I was constantly falling short.
Like I was always trying to measure up.
Trying to do better.
Trying to be better.
I would slip right back into old thinking, old labels, old insecurities, and old ways of seeing myself.
It was exhausting.
On one hand, I knew what God said about me, but on the other hand, I was still living like my identity depended on something else.
That tension stayed with me for longer than I’d like to admit, until I realized what was actually going on.
There was one pattern — one way of thinking — that kept pulling me out of my identity in Christ over and over again.
Not because the truth wasn’t real…
But because I was unknowingly anchoring myself to something else.
And as long as I kept doing that, I would always feel the disconnect.
That realization changed the way I started approaching my identity in Christ.
It shifted how I read Scripture.
How I responded to failure.
How I viewed growth.
It became the catalyst for change in my life - a change that I’m still experiencing today!
