I know that a lot is said today about who we are in Christ and recognizing our identity in Him, but many still don’t know how to actually identify with Him.
We still filter too much about ourselves through societal and media norms, and not enough through what God’s Word says.
For a long time, I didn’t know how to identify with Christ either.
I could say the right things.
I could repeat what Scripture said.
But underneath it, I was still filtering everything through culture, expectations, and old thought patterns that shaped how I saw myself.
The voices of past hurts and rejection still drowned out the voice of God and drove me to seek affirmation from those around me.
I still identified with the girl who was sexually and verbally abused, who was misunderstood by her peers, and who felt awkward in her own skin.
The shift didn’t come from trying harder to believe truth.
It came when I finally understood what it actually means to be in Christ — and why that changes more than we think.
I walk through what it actually means to be in Christ — and how it reshapes identity — here:
