I've been struggling with identity, placing it in ability and good health. My autoimmune issues have been fighting me and I have been almost always bedbound for months. I appreciate you, through tears. God bless
I am so glad that this was what you needed. I relate to your struggle so well. I still struggle with that at times. I pray that as you continue to seek God's face, that you will find His presence a soothing balm to your heart.
Thanks for this. I have recently started learning to see my chronic Restless legs not as a burden that keeps me up at night when I would rather be sleeping but instead I’m learning to see it as a chance to have intimate time with God alone and silent. That is something I don’t get often having three of my five kids still at home. I have also prayed many times that God would give me a chance to have deeper time with him. I guess I should when been more specific of what time of day I would have liked that 🤣 but seriously, it has been a struggle. I go to sleep at 10pm and sometimes I can’t actually fall asleep until midnight or after because of my restless legs. Some nights I can sleep easily at 10 but will wake in the middle of the night and need to do laps in the hallway, stumbling around because I am so exhausted. I used to cry and beg God to take this from me, but revisiting the verse you mentioned about Paul’s Thorn and what I have learned from various sermons I have learned to see my situation differently. Your message here just confirmed for me what God is doing in my life not taking this from me.
Oh dear friend - your comment meant so much to me to read, because I relate so much. I have to say, as painful as those years have been for me... having to get past regrets that I have that I couldn't be the mom and wife I imagined I would be, the friend I always wanted to be - there is a sweetness because without the struggle, I wouldn't know God in the way that I know Him. There wouldn't be the depth in my relationship with Him that I have. As the song goes, "God bless the broken road...." because it led me to trust in Him in ways I would now have known to trust Him otherwise. I pray that you will be able to look at those nights with a sweetness, too.
Amen! You are right. I am glad you are in a great place with God and are feeling an intimacy with him. I definitely feel it too at night when it’s just him and I.
I needed this today. Chronic pain with no answers can be extremely discouraging. Thank you
You are so right about that, my sister. I have been there and understand that pain.
This is exactly what I needed. Thank you.
