In short, I revert to “unworthy” which is an identity I was given by many people throughout my life including my father. I struggle to replace that identity with “daughter of the king “ or anything that would presume worthiness.

Oh dear sister, tou are not alone in this. This is a battle many face. Renewing your mind is the only way to replace those narratives with pnes that God says about you.

Loved this post. Have recently thought about how my identity and others has been shaped and how certain experiences seem to trigger my need to question how my Identity gets linked to people and things outside myself. I Love what you wrote here... "One of the most freeing truths in Scripture is that identity in Christ isn’t something we build; it’s something we receive. " Believing and Receiving go together beautifully.

Isn’t that so powerful, though? It takes the effort and trying hard away from us, and bring it back to our identity being a gift.

If we have to work for something, it’s not a gift. It’s a wage.

We don’t earn our identity in our family, it is gifted to us as a privilege of being born.

We are gifted our identity in Christ as a privilege of being born again into the family of God. We don’t have to earn that.

There is so much power in this!

It is a process that gets easier over time... but the temptation to revert to the old way, is always lurking. We must keep our eyes on the Lord and trust Him and His ways. Our identity in Him is always secure. Blessings

Amen! We have to constantly have our ear tuned to the Holy Spirit bringing us back when we begin to wander back into old habits. Good word, sister!
