Renewing our minds takes intentionality! Our brain has those well worn pathways leading to lies and it doesn’t want to change. But when we look to the word and make our brain think differently, eventually we overcome the mental resistance, and it becomes a bit easier to walk in a renewed mindset. We don’t become perfect or immune to negative thoughts and lies, but the more we know, rely on, and think about God’s word, the process can happen faster and we even can stop a runaway thought before it gets fully entrenched and entwined with our emotions. Great article!
Amen! You are completely correct in this. Just because a thought comes, doesn’t mean we have to engage with it or let it take root. We can capture it and bring it into submission to the Word of God immediately. Your comment is SO good!
