There have been seasons in my life where I thought I was spiritually strong… until life became difficult.
Not because I stopped loving God.
Not because I walked away from my faith.
But because hard seasons have a way of exposing what we are actually leaning on.
Stress, loss, and uncertainty reveal things about us that we may not realize about ourselves.
They expose where fear still controls us.
Where self-reliance still lives.
Where our trust in God becomes more theoretical than practical.
I remember walking through a season where it felt like one difficult thing after another kept happening.
Loss.
Health struggles.
Emotional exhaustion.
Situations completely outside my control.
And somewhere in the middle of it, I realized how easy it is to say we trust God when life feels stable.
It becomes much harder when prayers seem unanswered, and circumstances refuse to change quickly.
That season forced me to confront something honestly:
My faith needed deeper roots.
Deeper roots than I actually had.
Because shallow faith struggles to survive difficult storms.
And one of the biggest shifts during that time came from learning that faith is not strengthened by avoiding hard seasons.
It is strengthened by walking with God through them.
Slowly.
Daily.
Sometimes painfully.
There were days when faith demanded that I run to God for strength and comfort over and over again.
Opening Scripture again.
Praying again.
Trusting again.
Even when emotions felt unstable.
Looking back now, I can see that some of the deepest spiritual growth in my life happened during seasons I never would have chosen for myself.
Not because suffering itself was good.
But because God used those seasons to deepen my dependence on Him in ways comfort never could.

Thank you for your comment. 😍 It must have been challenging when you were a teen and into adulthood watching your dad struggle.
Your testimony is also mine. Praying for our sustaining growth in the faith💕
