Thank you for your comment. 😍 It must have been challenging when you were a teen and into adulthood watching your dad struggle.

It was - but it was also amazing to see how God pulled him through every time. My dad at 76 years old, is still living, active, and preaching the word of God.

I love how you expressed how hard seasons reveal where we are at Spiritually. What we need to learn. It's so true. Just walked through a challenging season with God. My husband had surgery and a stent. He ended up in ICU with unstable blood pressure and other issues. God stayed with us. I walked after things settled with him and I praise God, that he brought me a lovely Faith and Holy Spirit filled woman from Pastoral Counseling to speak to in the hall. She brought me to the Chapel at the hospital and we talked about Jesus. She asked me how my husband was doing and how I was doing. She shared many things in the most gentle, kind peaceful way. She then prayed over me and for my husband. Before I went back to my husband's room, she spoke about her goal to live surrendered, on a moment by moment basis to God's Will and do everything that honors God and as she encouraged me to read Phillipians 4 (slowly). I have. There are so many people in The Bible that have gone through really hard things and God's Grace met them there. They are also my teachers. I have so much respect for The Apostle Paul.

What a beautiful testimony. I am sorry for the struggles your husband had (my dad has gone through similar struggles all of my teen and adult life, so I relate so well to what you shared).

True faith and trust are built in the fire, not in the peaceful valley. God wants to know, if we can trust the things closest to our hearts in His capable hands. It is so hard to let go — and not run and yank back what we’ve surrendered. But trust is knowing that what we value is safe and secure in the hands of our Good Shepherd. <3
