Over the past week, we’ve spent time in five powerful passages that remind us our identity isn’t something we create—it’s something God gives.
Whether you joined me live or are catching up this week, I pray these Scriptures have encouraged you to stop measuring your worth by your performance and instead rest in what God says is true about you.
Let’s take one more look at what we’ve learned together.
You Are God’s Treasured Possession
Deuteronomy 4:20
Moses reminded Israel that God had chosen them as His own treasured possession. While this promise was originally spoken to Israel, it reveals something beautiful about God’s character: He delights in calling people to Himself.
As believers, we, too, belong to Him. We are no longer defined by our past, our failures, or the opinions of others. We belong to the Lord.
You Are Wonderfully Made
Psalm 139:14
In a world that constantly encourages comparison, David reminds us to look to our Creator.
You are not an accident.
You are not overlooked.
You are fearfully and wonderfully made by the God who knows every detail of your life.
Your value comes from the One who created you.
You Are a New Creation
2 Corinthians 5:17
One of my favorite truths in all of Scripture is that becoming a Christian isn’t simply about improving ourselves.
It’s about becoming someone new.
The old life has passed away.
The new has come.
When God looks at you, He doesn’t see the person you used to be. He sees someone made new through Jesus Christ.
Your Citizenship Is in Heaven
Philippians 3:20
It’s easy to become discouraged by everything happening around us.
But Paul reminds us that this world is not our home.
Our true citizenship is in heaven.
That truth changes the way we live. We don’t have to chase the approval of this world because we already belong to God’s eternal kingdom.
You Are Complete in Christ
Colossians 2:9–10
Perhaps this is the passage that ties everything together.
Paul tells us that in Christ “you have been brought to fullness.”
Think about that for a moment.
Not someday.
Not after you’ve prayed more.
Not after you’ve overcome every struggle.
In Christ, you have already been made complete.
That doesn’t mean we’re finished growing. It means we don’t have to strive to become worthy of God’s love. We already have everything we need in Jesus.
One Truth to Carry With You
If there’s one lesson I hope you’ll remember from this week, it’s this:
Your identity is not rooted in what you do. It’s rooted in whose you are.
You belong to Christ.
You are wonderfully made.
You are a new creation.
Your citizenship is in heaven.
You are complete in Him.
Those truths don’t change when your feelings change.
They don’t disappear when you have a difficult day.
They remain true because they are rooted in God’s unchanging Word.
Thank you for joining me for Week 2 of our My Identity in Christ Journey. Whether you watched every livestream live or you’re working through them at your own pace, I’m grateful you’re here.
Let’s continue renewing our minds together, one passage at a time, and learning to see ourselves the way God sees us.
Grace and peace,
Rosilind Jukić
